Yes, it is that time of year when the good folk of Talk Photography set aside the buttons and twiddly knobs of their day to day cameras and take up a disposable or three. The idea is to try and get a good photo regardless of the basic nature of the equipment. Hence it is referred to as the numpty behind the lens challenge. There were some great results and voting is about to start on some of the best, but here are some of my efforts. I used a couple of Ilford one use cameras loaded with HP5 film. I then took both apart [Disclaimer: I am not recommending people do this, there is a huge great capacitor in there for the flash which will give you a good belt if you get things wrong], extracted the cartridge and developed them myself and scanned to digital afterwards. The results are grainy as expected, with some very noticeable edge softness, but given the plastic lens and absolutely no controls, I was quite pleased with the results.
